Community & Voluntary Work

John has worked as volunteer mentor for the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) through their Bright Sparks mentoring program since 2006. He has devoted his personal time to help young people to achieve their career goals by using a variety of techniques including goal setting, visualisation methods, effective conflict management, improved communication skills and pro-active career management.

John is currently establishing contact with various charity organisations including St Vincent’s De Paul, The Smith Family and The Salvation Army in order to design for young underprivileged people a range of free outdoor activities designed to motivate them in achieving their life’s goals.

Removing underprivileged people who may live in highly stressful situations from their day to day environment, even for a few hours, can have almost miraculous effects on their self esteem, thinking clarity and attitude to life. We are now looking for a range of volunteers to assist us in setting up and managing these programs.

Our program kicks off early in 2011 in conjuction with the Salvation Army - Karynia (Ballarat) and the Victorian Climbing Club.

If you are an experienced rock climber, outdoor guide, bush walker or simply an outdoor enthusiast with a few spare hours per month which you can volunteer to improve the lives of others, please contact us at enquiries@reachyoureverest.com. All you will have to do is a few hours every few months of taking people indoor climbing, abseiling or rock climbing for just a few hours.
